GIS Team Lead

About the role

The GIS Team Lead will manage a team of GIS Technicians and Specialists responsible for capturing, controlling and maintaining asset information registers, databases and digital data systems for major infrastructure such as subsea, generation and network assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a GIS team, set priorities, allocate resources and ensure timely delivery of GIS projects supporting new connections and network upgrades.
• Design, maintain and optimise GIS databases for electricity assets, ensure data quality and integrate GIS with enterprise systems like SCADA and asset management platforms.
• Provide GIS‑based insights for feasibility studies, route optimisation and regulatory compliance, and drive digital initiatives for smart‑grid visualisation.
• Maintain KPIs, ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and data governance policies.

Required profile

• Background in GIS deployment and development, with ability to act as a super‑user of core GIS software.
• Understanding of electricity networks and experience working with utilities.
• Right‑to‑Work in Guernsey, valid full driving licence (Cat B) and awareness of high‑voltage substation access procedures.
• Minimum ‘A’ Level or equivalent in Geography, Mathematics, Science or Technology and relevant CPD.
