Senior Fund Administrator

About the role

Opera is Guernsey’s venture capital specialist, and its Fund Administration team delivers best‑in‑class service to a dynamic portfolio of VC funds and related entities. As a Senior Fund Administrator you will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables while supporting the wider fund team.

Key responsibilities

• Administer a portfolio of VC funds, management companies and associated vehicles, liaising with clients and third parties.
• Coordinate and process all fund operations, including investment transactions, payments, investor distributions, receipts and investor transactions.
• Handle complex fund operations such as new entity set‑up, licensing, tax authority applications and due‑diligence documentation.
• Maintain investor and fund records, ensuring timely updates and regulatory filings.
• Manage company secretarial duties, preparing minutes, board packs and reports.
• Liaise with tax advisors, lawyers and other stakeholders on fund matters under manager guidance.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to ad‑hoc client requests and project work.

Required profile

• A self‑starter able to work independently and accurately under pressure.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills for strong stakeholder relationships.
• Strong computer literacy and problem‑solving abilities.
• Practical experience or demonstrable knowledge of the financial services industry.

Required skills

• Understanding of fund documentation, GFSC regulations, Protection of Investors law and AML regulations.
• Hold or be studying towards a recognised professional qualification such as CGI (ICSA), ACCA or ACA, or have a minimum of 3 years relevant fund administration experience.
