Business Placement, External Audit (Guernsey)

About the role

PwC Channel Islands is recruiting an Associate for its Business Placement in External Audit, a 11-month fixed-term contract based in Guernsey. It is designed for students on a four-year degree programme with a sandwich placement element, giving them industry experience in their penultimate year. The programme is supported by coaching, a career coach and a buddy, and work experience counts towards the Chartered Accountant qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assurance services to a wide range of clients, from multinational companies and start-ups to family businesses, governments and private individuals, covering banking, capital markets, private equity, real estate, insurance and consumer finance.
• Work on financial statement audits, obtaining reasonable assurance that the financial statements are free from material misstatement and issuing an auditor's report.
• Split time between client premises, the office and studying for professional exams, with some travel and busy periods.

Required profile

• Student on a four-year degree with a sandwich placement element; the subject of study is not relevant.
• 96 UCAS points and on track for at least a 2.1.
• No work permit: candidates needing a work permit cannot be considered.
