Higher Apprentice, Tax (Guernsey)

About the role

PwC Channel Islands is recruiting a Higher Apprentice in Tax (Associate level) based in Guernsey, working 37.5 hours per week. The tax services team advises clients on tax planning, compliance and strategy, and tax compliance specialists validate clients' compliance with tax laws and regulations. The role sits in the FS X-Sector, General Tax Consulting line of service.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse financial data and prepare and file tax returns
• Help businesses meet their tax obligations while minimising the risk of non-compliance
• Expand local tax knowledge while learning from the global PwC tax network of over 20,000 practitioners
• Work on tax compliance for a diverse clientele, including multinationals, UK companies, private enterprises and individuals
• Assist in reviewing tax aspects for assurance purposes and give tax input to advisory matters such as regulatory reviews, liquidations and data systems
• Study for a relevant qualification such as a Chartered Accounting Qualification or Chartered Tax exams during the three-year programme
• Work in the offices and attend client meetings, including off-island, and take part in industry events and possibly global tax academy travel

Required profile

• Achieved or on track to achieve 96 UCAS points or above in one sitting; A Levels or equivalent in any subject
• No work permit required; candidates needing a work permit cannot be considered due to Channel Islands immigration restrictions
