Head Waiter – Full Time (Guernsey)

About the role

The Head Waiter will lead the waiting staff at Indian Cottage, a busy restaurant in Guernsey. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will ensure smooth service, high guest satisfaction and efficient team performance during all operating hours.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and schedule the waiting team to deliver prompt, courteous service.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to manage order flow and timing.
• Handle guest enquiries, complaints and special requests professionally.
• Maintain service standards, health and safety compliance, and cleanliness of the dining area.
• Assist in inventory control of service supplies and manage on‑duty meals for staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior waiting or service role, preferably as a head waiter or supervisor.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Residency in Guernsey or the Channel Islands.

Required skills

• Knowledge of restaurant service procedures and point‑of‑sale systems.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
