About the role
We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Humanities to join a specialist secondary school that supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work in small classes, tailoring lessons to each learner and helping them build confidence, resilience and academic success.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Humanities lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of SEMH students.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents and external professionals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and whole‑school improvement initiatives.
- Provide pastoral support to promote students' wellbeing.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
- Demonstrated passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building abilities.
- Resilient, patient and adaptable approach.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for every learner.
