Electrical Solutions Estimator

About the role

Join Guernsey Electricity Limited as an Electrical Solutions Estimator, working from a small commercial office and visiting domestic and commercial sites. You will provide expert advice on electrical installations and repairs, delivering fixed‑price quotations and time‑and‑material estimates while building strong professional relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Quote and plan a wide range of electrical and heating systems for industrial, commercial and domestic premises.
• Ensure all work complies with IET Regulations and company Health & Safety policies.
• Collaborate with the GEL Electrical & Plumbing team to identify market opportunities and develop new services.
• Liaise with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, designers and sub‑contractors on design, installation and maintenance matters.
• Visit customers to assess required works and assist in producing quotations and project evaluations.
• Promote the company’s services and advise customers on efficient system operation.
• Undertake out‑of‑hours emergency call‑outs as needed.
• Comply with local legislation on Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection.
• Demonstrate Guernsey Electricity’s core values and behaviours.

Required profile

• Completed a formal apprenticeship and qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation works or equivalent.
• Working towards or holding Technician Membership of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (TMIET).
• Considerable experience in electrical installation and maintenance with good knowledge of current IET Regulations.
• Holding or progressing towards Qualified Supervisor status with NICEIC.
• Effective communication skills with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Commercial awareness and a current Category ‘B’ driving licence.
• Basic computer proficiency.
