Non-Executive Director

About the role

Guernsey Electricity is seeking a Non‑Executive Director to join its Board in early 2027. The successful candidate will also chair the Audit & Risk Sub‑Committee, providing independent oversight of financial, risk and sustainability matters.

Key responsibilities

• Promote the long‑term success of the company for the benefit of its members.
• Contribute to the effective running of the Board and its sub‑committees.
• Help set, monitor and challenge the strategic direction, ensuring objectives are met.
• Participate in open, honest debate at board meetings and provide constructive challenge to executives.
• Demonstrate high standards of integrity, probity and corporate governance.

Required profile

• Board‑level experience, preferably with recent experience in assurance, risk and financial management.
• Commercial mindset with an interest in electricity strategy, energy transition and sustainability issues.
• Understanding of the complexities of regulatory, market and competition dynamics in the utility sector.
• Ability to navigate fast‑changing environments and guide long‑term strategic decisions.
