Onboarding Adviser Senior Associate 1

About the role

PwC's Channel Islands firm is hiring an Onboarding Adviser (Senior Associate 1) in Guernsey, working within the Client Onboarding Team. The adviser acts as the main link between engagement teams, their clients and the KYC Operations team, helping to make the client onboarding experience more effective and efficient. The role sits in the line of service IFS - Operations and reports to the Client Onboarding Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to AML-related queries on procedures, policy and systems for KYC.
• Keep engagement teams updated on onboarding status, escalate issues early and solve problems proactively.
• Guide clients and engagement teams through the KYC process to gather the documentation needed to meet AML requirements, then pass it to KYC Operations.
• Act as a conduit between KYC Operations and clients/engagement teams, ensuring correct interpretation of KYC requirements and simplifying requests.
• Serve as the first point of contact for KYC Operations on queries and outreach on KYC profiles, using existing data and local industry knowledge.
• Own the charging of all onboarding time to the relevant WBS codes so that management information is accurate; the role is expected to be chargeable.

Required profile

• Understanding of KYC, the financial regulatory environment and AML risk implications.
• Understanding of the legal structures of various client types.
• Experience in client relationship, client risk, AML or KYC roles.
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams and to escalate issues when necessary.
• Ability to work to KPIs and be accountable for output.
• Some travel may be required from time to time; government clearance is required.

Required skills

• Desirable: knowledge of compliance monitoring processes and quality standards.
• Desirable: understanding of client structures and regulatory needs, and experience with complex regulatory conditions.
• Desirable: strong communicator, able to influence change and think digitally about problems.
• An AML certificate or similar qualification is beneficial.
