Senior Fund Accountant – Private Equity

About the role

Join Northern Trust’s Private Equity Operations team as a Senior Fund Accountant. You will support a large client with an active investment portfolio across multiple fund products, ensuring timely delivery of accounting and reporting deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Provide premier client service by building strong relationships with Investment Advisors and third‑party stakeholders, resolving queries and ensuring deliverables are met.
• Create and maintain investment and portfolio records, process purchases and disposals, record income receipts and monitor valuations.
• Bookkeep valuations, perform periodic reconciliations and prepare invoice coding for all fund products.
• Prepare regular client and investor reports, supporting senior management, finance and investor relations.
• Monitor assigned mailboxes, proactively complete tasks, and support team members with workload rotation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in fund accounting or administration of private equity, credit or perpetual funds.
• Part‑qualified ACA or ACCA (minimum).
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and escalate issues.
• Customer‑service orientation and strong communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with fund accounting systems and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Data‑literacy and computer literacy, including advanced Excel usage.
• Ability to perform complex investment transaction accounting and reconciliations.
