Medical Elective Placements for Medical Students

About the role

The Medical Specialist Group LLP offers elective placements for medical students in their third year or above. Based in St Martins, Guernsey, the placements provide hands‑on experience across a range of clinical specialties. Students will work alongside consultants in ward rounds, theatres, outpatient clinics and on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in ward rounds under consultant supervision
• Assist in theatre sessions and outpatient clinics
• Take part in on‑call duties and acute medicine exposure
• Gain exposure to specialties such as Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Surgery, Anaesthetics, Cardiology, Diabetes and Acute Medicine
• Observe and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a medical degree programme, third year or higher
• Willing to provide a CV and complete a brief questionnaire as part of the application
